GODLIKE KIDS FOUNDATION RAISES NEARLY 1 MILLION
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[Toronto- ON] - On Saturday March 3rd, 2016 the GoodLife Kids Foundation hosted their 6th annual Spin4Kids fundraising event with over 219 participating GoodLife Fitness Clubs across Canada. Thousands of GoodLife Fitness employees, members, partners, friends and families pedaled on indoor cycles raising over $980,000 for the GoodLife Kids Foundation.
Over 7,500 participants took part movin’ and groovin’ to the beat of the music during the spin cycling and the hour long group fitness classes taking place. The event had all participants on teams of up to eight ranging from all levels of fitness each spinning for an hour. The group fitness activities led by GoodLife Instructors included BODYPUMP, BODYATTACK, BODYFLOW and Zumba® all taking place in the motivating and fun studio spaces. From coast to coast 25 outstanding cyclists amazed the crowd by riding for the entire 8 hour event.
“100% of the money you donate to GoodLife Kids Foundation goes to helping Kids across Canada get active and healthy!” said David Patchell-Evans. GoodLife Fitness covers 100% of the administrative and operational expenses so that every dollar raised will make the biggest impact possible on the lives of Canadian children. In support of the event, national sponsors; Jordans Morning Crisp and Royal Canin decided to join in on the fun offering a morning breakfast to raise energy levels and kick start the day.
All funds raised through the Spin4Kids event go towards 2 key initiatives; the GoodLife4Kids school program and GoodLife Kids Foundation grant program. To date the Foundation has helped over 235,000 Canadian children live more active and healthy lives. The GoodLife4Kids school program partners with local teachers to teach fitness skills in grade 4 classes at no cost to schools. The grant program provides funding for ongoing physical activity programs for children ages 4-14 with special needs.
“The growth of Spin 4 Kids nationally has demonstrated that there is potential to make a real difference and promote concrete, positive change!” said by Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne. With the team sign ups released for the upcoming 2018 year, Canadians need to get excited about this great cause and join in on the fun.
